Accessibility and Readability Audit

Current status

Week Week 13 complete, Aug 10-16
Phase Programme complete
Focus Final contribution status and handoff

So far

  • 4 audit axes completed: contrast, legibility, layout, and navigation
  • 5 themes checked against WCAG contrast ratios
  • 10 original contrast failures recorded
  • 354 simulator screenshots captured across three representative devices
  • 2 PRs merged (#853, #879)
  • 1 audit-derived contribution integrated after a maintainer rebase (#909)
  • 1 audit-derived PR complete, with upstream merge pending (#911)
  • 1 audit-derived Draft PR under design review (#922)
  • 6 navigation and information architecture findings after re-evaluation

Final contribution status

  • Maintainers integrated the work from #909 after rebasing it onto develop. A follow-up commit extracted the shared wallet-information menu code. Issue #829 is closed.
  • #911 is complete for the programme. Its live GitHub record is open, non-Draft, clean, and mergeable at a3f32a01; all replacement checks pass and upstream merge is planned for August 16.
  • Draft PR #922 remains open, clean, and mergeable at 993acc65. Its simulator and translation stress checks cover TZT, M5StickV, Amigo, and all 11 translations. Physical TZT acceptance and all current-head GitHub checks pass.
  • The QR-keypad collaboration remains an open Draft PR #811. That collaboration remains separate from the audit-derived directions. Its author reported new binary-input, font-glyph, and prompt-redraw fixes on August 11.
  • Every PR and linked issue on the Contributions page was rechecked against GitHub on August 16.
  • The audit findings remain evidence-only. Later implementation and device checks are recorded separately in the weekly updates and Contributions.

Audit summary

Axis Result
Contrast 10 original strict failures; the clean Light-theme and CypherPink cases were fixed in PR #879; Amigo info-panel contrast remains hardware-gated
Legibility No critical, high, or medium finding; M5StickV wrapping remains a low review concern
Layout No overlap or clipping in captured flows; two medium consistency risks and four low maintenance findings
Navigation and IA Six findings after the method was expanded beyond depth, item count, and screen fit
